Your own insurance may not cover your rental truck under all circumstances. Before you rent your truck (know what size truck you will be getting), ask your insurance agent if you are covered for the following situations:

  • A traffic accident (including bodily injury and property damage due to the accident)
  • Physical damage to the truck
  • Theft of the truck
  • Injuries resulting from loading and unloading the truck
  • Damage to your belongings due to accident, theft, weather, or natural disaster
  • Damage to any vehicle you are towing

Your own insurance may not apply in these situations, or may have monetary limits to coverage.Review your moving truck rental extra insurance packages. They should have various packages of additional coverage you can purchase to cover any array of circumstances. Be knowledgeable before you rent of what coverage you have, what coverage you want, and what level of risk you are willing to take.
